The 50 x 60mm figure you will find on nearly every photo site is real, but it belongs to the other product — the sticker visa you apply for in person at a Turkish embassy or consulate, for purposes the e-Visa does not cover such as work or study. Two independent Turkish missions publish the same requirement: the Consulate General in Karachi lists “Biometric photo (White background, 50mm x 60mm)” among the documents for a tourist visa, and the Consulate General in Los Angeles published dated guidance in September 2024 giving the same 50 x 60mm on a patternless white background. Two missions agreeing is what makes it a specification rather than one office’s local rule.

Sites that sell you an e-Visa photo are selling you something the application cannot accept.
For the consular sticker visa: 50 x 60mm on a plain white background. That is 591 x 709 pixels at 300 DPI, which is what this tool produces. It is published by multiple Turkish missions, including the Consulates General in Karachi and Los Angeles.
Because the two visa types get conflated. 50 x 60mm is the consular sticker visa’s requirement, and it gets republished as though it applied to the e-Visa. The e-Visa and the consular visa are separate products — the portal itself notes that the e-Visa application “has no connection with Turkish Embassies or Consulates General.”
One mission says so: the Consulate General in Los Angeles notes that because 2 x 2in is standard in the USA, it is also accepted. That is a local accommodation at one consulate, not the general rule — 50 x 60mm is the published spec. Check the mission handling your application before relying on it.
